Google Chrome Has An Awesome Pop-Up Blocker Extension

One of the biggest reasons why I dumped Internet Explorer back in 2005 is that the fact that IE was no longer up to the task of handling the increasing number of pop-ups that were besieging the web. Mozilla’s awesome browser had one of the best pop-up blockers existing, and it’s pretty unmatched until now. However, we all know how most people are defecting to Google’s Chrome browser, because it pretty much showed how slow Firefox is.

Honestly, I don’t have any patience in waiting for Firefox to start, freeze a little bit, and sluggishly respond to my keystrokes when all I want to do is to take a quick peek at an Australia business directory. Chrome can do the same things in less than half the time. Continue Reading »

Four things to do when your rankings drop

The rankings businesses are able to obtain with the search results are of great significance. The higher and better the ranking within the search results, the more exposure a business will receive and the greater the amount of relevant web traffic arriving on its pages. Achieving high rankings is no easy task, but some businesses which have been using SEO and have dedicated time and hard work to their online campaign, do enjoy the top spots.

Businesses which do have high rankings in the search results enjoy a lot of benefits. They will see a lot of traffic directed to their websites because of these rankings and this means the potential for a greater number of sales too. When you have top rankings, it is easy to become a bit complacent and become used to the advantages it can provide. Site owners which have achieved the top are often those which are content with the way their business is running.

How to argue in SEO content

Everyone loves a good argument. It clears the air, it makes things exciting – and it gets the blood pumping. Even when reading, people love to have a well constructed argument presented to them – whether they agree with the opinion or not.

This may be why controversial content often works so well on the internet. Many influential bloggers swear by the technique of featuring an occasional argumentative post. It usually stirs up the conversation, if not a huge amount of controversy, and at its best can get whole sections of the web buzzing. When that buzz is about you, it can do wonders for your site’s traffic and a great SEO blog post can really make a difference. Continue Reading »

SharePoint2010 Quota Template Feature

What is a SharePoint Server 2010 Quota Template?
A SharePoint Server 2010 quota template consists of storage limit values that specify the maximum amount of data that can be stored in a site collection. When the storage limit is reached, a quota template can also trigger an e-mail alert to the site collection administrator. You can create a quota template that can be applied to any site collection in the farm. A quota template can also be applied to a site collection that contains sandboxed solutions. You can limit the maximum usage per day and send a warning e-mail message when the usage limit is approaching. If the maximum usage limit is reached, the sandboxed solution is disabled for the rest of the day, and an e-mail message is sent to the site collection administrator. You can also modify existing quota templates. This allows you to modify storage limits for all of the site collections that use the same quota template. When you modify a quota template, you must then reapply it to existing site collections before the new storage limits are enforced. You can delete a quota template if necessary. However, deleting a quota template will not delete quota values from sites that were created by using the quota template. If you want to remove quotas from all sites by using a specific quota template, you must use the object model or perform a SQL query.

Safety for the Kids on the Web (Part 4)

People who go on blind-dates sometimes have to lie about certain details about them to get their dates to like them. Internet socializing is just the same, it’s even hard to prove because you can’t see the person, maybe just with a picture and that’s it. People in the internet can lie about their age and even the gender. Some people will just do about anything to get your attention and hook up with it. Internet socializing sites are one of the best things these days, but warn the kids with extreme caution; you are not separating them from the computer until their 30, just advising them what’s right or wrong.

Safety for the Kids on the Web (Part 3)

They may not have experienced growing up with the internet and the dangers it may bring, but similar events may happen to their kids even if it’s on the internet. Online chatting is one, be afraid when topics get into sex or physical details. It’s hard to warn the kids when it gets too late, and since they are curious (since they are growing up), they just might engage in it. So if you are a parent, it’s good if you talk these sensitive topics to your kids. In addition, there have been popular social networks that just about anybody can join; all you need is an email account.

Safety for the Kids on the Web (Part 2)

Looks can be deceiving they say. Talk to a person on a street, later on he/she is being paid to get information from you (possible, it can happen). Looking at a person can deceive, what more someone you are talking to that you can’t see? Since kids have been more into the internet than the wiser ones, their curiosity explores the wide world of the web: internet. When will they know when and what they are doing is bad for them? That is why we have the wise people, to help the kids and teach them and keep them out of trouble based on their experience.

Safety for the Kids on the Web (Part 1)

Carrie in the Sex and the City movie looked silly when she was in need for a phone to call her fiancé, and one of her friends hand her their iPhone, she just returned it admitted that she doesn’t know how to use it. Another scene there was when she was hiring an assistant, she ended up hiring someone who has a degree in Computer Science, and added a comment that she couldn’t even text message. They say that some older people are technically challenged, and the youth are tinkering with programming codes easy as pie. But one thing kids today can’t dig up on a search engine, experience.

Why Internet Copyrights are Becoming a Thing of the Past

ccMainly because of the free-ranging quality of the web where hyou may get one source but risk missing several others making it an exercise in futility. Most measures to control content and software have been quite effective till the internet became so far reaching the policing efforts have simply become too costly. There have been major success stories with major piracy hubs being closed down for a couple of hours till they got the system back up again. The ability of these hackers to move from place to place is quite frustrating for law enforcement for they can lose these people in the blink of an eye. Even some for the best Information Technology security systems are having a hard time to cope with the ever growing threats that are on the internet.
